Foggy Day Schedule

2020-2021 School Year

Monroe parents and students.  As fog season approaches, please be aware that foggy days will look different than in prior years.  If a foggy day is called, buses will be cancelled and all students, including those who typically walk or are dropped off by parents, will participate through distance learning from home for that day.  The foggy day notification will be a Foggy Day Plan D

Foggy Day Schedule for 2021-2022 School Year

1.       A decision will be made by Southwest Transportation Agency whether or not buses will be delayed due to foggy weather conditions.

2.     If bus departure is delayed, an announcement will be made on Channel 18 under the name of “CARUTHERS AREA.”  The announcement will indicate which plan the Agency will be following.  The announcement is subject to changes and updates.  You may also click on “Foggy Day Bus Plan” on our website under “Quick Links” which will take you to the Southwest Transportation Agency Fog Delay web page for your updates.

Plan A          Two (2) hour delay- Buses will arrive at school 2 hours after usual arrival time.

Plan B          Three (3) hour delay- Buses will arrive at school 3 hours after usual arrival time.

Plan C          Buses canceled- No morning buses will run, after school buses will run.

3.     Because the transportation agency is located in Riverdale, it may happen that buses do not run due to fog in Riverdale while conditions are acceptable at Monroe.

4.     Classes begin at 8:15 and foggy day instructions apply only to those students who ride the bus to school.  Remind students often that school begins on time and encourage them to arrive at school as soon as possible.

5.     Attendance will be taken shortly after buses arrive or at 11:30 if buses are cancelled.
